In the Beginning...
Since 1989, WMACS (Washington Metropolitan Association of Chinese Schools) has held an annual, weeklong, overnight camp for kids to learn more about the Chinese culture and make friends. The campers are 8 to 17 years old, and the counselors are between 18 and 22 years old.
WMACS Summer camp has been at Frostburg State University in western Maryland since 1997. Previously, it has been held at a number of other schools.
